Twitter Icon using Custom Shapes

Open a new document in Photoshop sized 500px by 500px. 72 dpi.

Create a new layer.

Select the custom shape tool and use an ellipse.

Make sure black is the foreground color.

Now holding the shift key, draw a circle.

Hit Command J to duplicate, and move over.

Now select the custom shape tool. Go here and select the following:

Draw the shape in the document. Hit Command T to transform to look like a beak.

Now select the following custom shape:

Draw around the circles and beak for a head. Then draw another to look like a body.

Now select the circle custom shape and make small eyeballs with white.

Switch the foreground/background colors.

Select this custom shape:

Draw in so it looks like a wing.

Select the custom shape line tool.

Draw bird feet.

You can make these any colors you like!

Graffiti Wall

Open a brick wall image in photoshop. I used this:

Select the type tool from the tools palette.

Download a graffiti font. I found this free graffiti font at:

http://www.fontspace.com/chu/your-mum-rang

Type your text on the wall using this color: #ffffff

Select the Blending Options on the text layer:

Use the following settings:

Now set the text layer to Overlay.

Now duplicate that layer by pressing Command J.

Set the Opacity of the original text layer and the duplicated layer to 50%.

Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur

It will ask you this, click OK.

Use the following blur settings:

Here is your finished image:

Thanksgiving Card

Open a new document in photoshop sizing:

Be sure your colors are set to similar as shown:

Select the new fill/adjustment icon at the bottom of the layers window:

Select Gradient…

Use the following settings:

Create a new layer and name it Tree.

Select the brush tool from the tools palette, and choose the scattered maple leaf brush.

Select #f8b603 for your foreground color.

Use the scattered brush and toggle the sizes to achieve this look:

Select the Blending Options and use the following settings:

You will have this:

Now select your type tool from the tools palette.

Using Scriptina Pro at 48pt, type Happy Thanksgiving.

Now select the Blending Options.

Use the following on the text:

You’ll have this:

Now, to get the cornucopia I just googled “cornucopia” and took the first generic image. I removed the white from the background and placed it into the Thanksgiving Card document.

Make your layers in this order:

Set the layer style on the Cornucopia layer to Overlay at 50% Opacity.

Your finished card will look like this:
