Make a Banana

Open a new document in photoshop sizing:

Select the rectangular marquee tool.

Make a long rectangle. Fill with #e5c71e.

Create a new layer and name it Texture.

Using the rectangular marquee tool, draw another long rectangle and fill with black as shown.

Make sure you have Black and white set as your foreground and background colors.

Go to Filter > Render > Fibers

Use the following settings:

You will have this:

Press Command T to transform and rotate over the yellow rectangle. Set the layer blending mode to Multiply.

Select the yellow rectangle. Now select the texture layer. Go to Select > Inverse

Press delete.

You will have this:

Now change the opacity of the texture layer to 6%.

Press command and click on the texture layer box to select. Press shift and select the background layer. Right click and select Merge Layers…

Now press Command J to duplicate the selection.

Press Command T to transform. Right click in the box and select Warp…

Warp the shape into a banana.

Deselect.

Select the end of the banana. Warp to create the tip shape.

Use an eraser to fine tune the shape.

Select the Burn tool.

Use the eraser to fine tune the shape.

Create a new layer and name it highlight.

Using the circular marquee too make a selection over the banana and fill with white as shown.

Set the layer mode to Screen and the opacity to 31%.

Use an eraser to make the highlight more realistic.

You will have this:

You can add some smudges in the banana, and add some green as well.

Norther Sky with Star Background

*You can use the Star Background for this…

Open the Star Background you created.

Create a new layer and name it Colors.

Select the marquee selection tool.

Make a selection on the top half of the document.

Select the gradient tool from the tools palette.

Use this gradient:

Use the following settings:

Start the gradient in the bottom lefthand corner and take it to the top righthand corner diagonally.

You will have this:

Press Command D to deselect.

Set the layer to Linear Light at 40% Opacity.

Select the Eraser tool.

Use a large soft edge brush and bring to opacity of the brush down to 50%. (You may want to toggle the opacity levels to get a more realistic result)

Erase the bottom edges lightly while changing the opacity levels frequently to achieve the desired result:

Realistic Star Background

Open a new document in photoshop sizing:

Fill the entire background with black.

Now go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise

Use the following settings:

Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur…

Use the following settings:

Now go to Image > Adjustments > Levels…

Use the following settings:

Select the gradient tool:

Use the following settings:

Apply the gradient from the bottom up.
