Brush Ad

*The purpose of this tutorial is to show you different brush techniques you can do. You are encouraged to use your own creativity and play with the different brushes.

Open a new photoshop document with the following size:

Select #999999 for the foreground color.

Fill the background layer with that color.

Create a new layer and name it “brush 1”

Select the brush tool.

Now click on this icon :

Set the brush presets to the following:



Now choose #33ff00 for your foreground color.

Paint the brush you just created on the right hand side…

Click back on the brush preset icon… and remove the scattering technique from the brush:

Choose #ffffff for the foreground color and paint in a few lines:


Now click back on the brush preset icon. Choose a new brush. ( I chose a circular one, but you can choose anything you’d like)


Set the presets to the following:

Choose a color of your desire. Paint in wherever you’d like.

Add your text.

Make a Patterned Background for a Website

In this tutorial we will walk through how to make a simple patterned background for a webpage.

Open a new file in Photoshop.  Use the following size:

Choose an image that is 200px by 200px and is symmetrical.  I chose this circular design:

*It’s best to use an image that does not touch the edges*

Go to Edit > Define Pattern…

Name the pattern. (I named mine Circle Design)

Hit “OK”

Open a new file using the following sizes:

Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern

This window will come up:

Hit “OK”

This window will come up:

Adjust the percentage (%) slider to desired size.

Hit “OK”
